Hey everyone!
I just finished another pretty rough semester and I wanted to share the final project I did for my 3D VFX class with you all.
We basically had 3 weeks to create an animated short with a ton of particles, dynamics and effects whilst retaining somewhat of a story element to the piece (which is pretty tough considering the amount of homework for other classes and having a full-time internship).
Anyways, the piece can be seen here:

Please let me know what you think!

(On a side note: The uploaded version seem to have come out a lot darker than what I have on the original footage. This probably is a compresion issue)
Were you pulling anything from library files that you built up?
Amazing!! Congrats. 3 weeks! Very well done.
Hey Wontobe!
The characters and most of the set were built from scratch by myself. The particle systems were also created from scratch. The teacher did let us use Turbosquid (or any other 3D site that has free models) to fill up the enironment. I wanted to pull everything from my own library, but I had nothing that was from a simillar setting :P
The castle was a model that I found online and there are a few little fillers models that I threw in here and there. But the majority of stuff was created from scratch.
Audio was pretty much straight from the Conan movie and complimentary SFX were from sounddogs.com
Thank you very much! :)
