Here is my Student film for my final year at duncan of jordanstone school of art in dundee, scotland. Its animated in a mixture of 2d and 3d using toon boom , after effects and maya 6. Im still working on some maya texture mapping stuff and some more linking shots for the end of august for entrys to some competitions and festivals
well enough gabbing here it is, its hosted by the Uni website till my own page comes online so i should have a big version soon. You just click and the pop up box should have a quicktime symbol inside it, then it should take less than 5 mins to load.
Pretty cool man, I like the dog alot and the animation was good. You did a great job compositing the 2D and 3D together. I also love the color scheme you chose. You should post here when the next part is done!

There is such a charm to having those elements like the clouds in plain old graphite. Especially doing the parallax(sp)-style scrolling, where it actually sort of blurs from being close to the "camera."
Don't take this the wrong way, since I liked your film, but what I'm really compelled to say is that the choice for the soundtrack was impeccable! Unified, non-repetitive, soft but with plucking...it fit the mood in a light-spirited way even as action was mounting...

The music really helped me set the tone for the film i listened to the song over and over as i storyboarded and designed. i had to edit different parts of it together but it really helped having some sort of idea what different scenes would portray using the music as a guide.
The music is by a young american modern bluegrass artist called Chris Thile from his solo album " not all who wander are lost" the song itself is called "song for a young queen" and is aparently about queen amidala from star wars!!!
