Podcasting: The Next Big Broadcast Phenomenon?
The PGA New Media Council and The Emmy Awards Advanced Media Committee in cooperation with the New School Department of Media Studies and Film and the Parsons Department of Design and Technology, will host an evening of presentation, discussion and networking with PGA members and members of the New Media industry. This first monthly event of the 2005-2006 season will be a discussion about the future and impact of podcasting.

Studio Arts of Los Angeles, CA will be host to a special group of ALIAS MAYA seminars, classes and workshops that will begin Monday, October 17th, 2005 and end Friday, December 16, 2005.
Maya instruction will be from introductory level to intermediate and advanced workshops in everything from modeling and textures to rigging, animation and more. Classes will meet from 8am-3pm Mon. through Fri.

Indie Games Con 2005

2005 China International Cartoon and Digital Art Festival
The 2005 China International Cartoon and Digital Art Festival (http://www.cicdaf.com/english/index.asp) will be held in Changzhou, China, on September 28 to October 5, 2005.
Last year's edition drew crowds in excess of 130,000. Since then, the city has been designated by the Central Government as one of 9 new animation production centers, and it is estimated that 150,000 visitors will attend this year's event.
Also present at the show will be numerous production studios, schools, media organizations, and technology vendors and providers.

Walt Disney's Hometown Toonfest
Marceline, Missouri, hometown of Walt Disney, will host internationally acclaimed cartoonists for Walt Disney's Hometown Toonfest. The cartoonists and their fans will celebrate Disney's boyhood in Marceline, the little rail-stop town where Disney lived from 1906-1911.
The Toonfest will recognize the influence that Marceline had on Disney's animated cartoons and toast the accomplishments of today's all-star American cartoonists. Disney returned to pastoral Marceline numerous times during his legendary career for locale and lifestyle research for his films, and for personal renewal.
