IGN Live and services company IGN Entertainment are partnering with the Game Developers Conference to produce a two-day seminar providing gamers the opportunity to hear from their game design heroes and get their perspective on the growing opportunities within the industry. The educational series will take place at IGN Live, the first annual festival dedicated to all aspects of the gamer lifestyle at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Through a series of panels and lectures, gamers and aspiring developers will hear top game developers and executives from leading videogame companies present their expertise and insights during sessions including:* How to Break Into the Videogame Industry*First Person Perspectives from First Year Developers*Networking 101*A Day in the Life of a Game Developer*Career Paths in Game Development
The seminar will grant attendees access to a high level, influential lineup of speakers including representatives from Electronic Arts, THQ, Warner Bros. Interactive Ent. and Midway Games. The interactive entertainment professionals will provide valuable tips for getting started in the industry, including how to land a first job, what it takes to succeed during that first year of work, networking opportunities, day-to-day responsibilities, the pros and cons of long work days, and how to climb the industry ladder to make games a long-term career.
