Hey you guys. Im new here and wanted to really see what it takes to really dive into the anime world and become as great artists as you guys. Ive seen some of the sketches and just couldnt believe it. I rarely draw anymore now due to lack of support since I was a kid but I'm ready to get back to it and learn to draw the right way. and develop my own style in the process.

Any advices?

If you "rarely draw now" you will obviously have great challenges achieving your goal--so the obvious answer is to draw as much as you can.

Keep in mind that Anime is just a series of styles, mostly embodying an overall general style. Many young "anime" artists make a very basic mistake.......they draw ONLY from anime.

Do not do this.

In my opinion, learn instead to draw classically.......that is the traditional ways of drawing the human figure, animals, perspective composition etc, and once you become competent then apply those lessons/skills with flourish toward anime.
I say this because most professional anime artists tend to begin via traditional drawing skills anyway and then embrace the specific anime styles as they mature as artists.
The really good anime artists display work that often show the sound understanding of basic drawing( anatomy etc), just done in the anime styles.

Drawing only from anime styles corrupts the work of beginners--and most just attain a somewhat weak version of anime and miss a lot of the underlying foundations of good drawing. All they see is the style, and not the requisites of lines shapes and forms that suggest weight, volume, textures etc.

But before all that... just draw.
Get comfortable with it, do not let outside pressures affect or deny you........just draw.

Thanks alot. And embarrassingly enough, I can put myself in that category.I went through this faze thinking that as long as I can mimic a style of anime then I can draw anything. But what I noticed how I can mimic an anime picture or wallpaper from top to bottom but i cant do it on my own

Well, i wished to post request but i'm not sure why i'm not allowed,,,, maybe becase i'm still new.....
I'm doing a research about Anubis, (Egyptian god of mummification) and I'm really interested in animation, photos and detailed information about him and how he used to mummify corpses (how disgusting, but anyway)
Please, provide me with some photos and info if you have with reference to the books or links to add them to the research index.....:(
