Hi everyone, my company, Bake Media is a leader in providing video to mobile (cell) phones, around the world. We have developed a new application, the video ringtone, which has been received with a great deal of demand. We typically create videotones with official music videos, sport highlights etc, and would like to use character and abstract animations. Has anybody been making animations for mobile, or have work that might convert well on mobile?

I was under the impression that mobile technology animations were Flash, Java, or a blend. Seems like it'd be decently simple to port it to that format. How does that work?
Flash is just starting on mobile. Java is a leading platform for mobile games. As for the linear animation, most popular formats are GIF (for screensavers and messaging), and different video formats, like MPEG4.
