In these unusual times of 2020, we're calling you to join the 10th international celebration of stop motion animation art. StopTrik IFF is a festival of community that cherishes the hand-made art of cinematic illusion, uniqueness of experiments and spirit of collectivism. We vow to do everything that is possible to maintain these values despite all of the surrounding obstacles.
First things first: we're opening the call for the most exciting stop motion films made in 2018-2020. We appreciate the works made in traditional techniques of three-dimensional hand-made animation but we are also eager to discover experimental, mixed and hybrid forms. “The International Stop Motion Competition” and “The Borderlands Competition” will be judged by the most valuable juror – the Audiences. We hope for your understanding that only on a later date we will know whether this will be groups of enthusiasts gathered in Maribor (Slovenia) and Lodz (Poland) or individuals responsibly self-isolating themselves in front of their computers.
StopTrik IFF is a stop motion animation film festival, therefore competitions are open only for films that use stop motion means of expression (puppet/ clay/ cut-out/ objects/ loose materials/ pixilation etc).
Professionals, students and enthusiasts alike are welcome to share their films and be a part of the 10th anniversary of StopTrik. Whatever form it takes, this festival is about discovering stop motion diversity as well as discussing arts, politics and all that's relevant for any creative personality!
“International Stop Motion Competition” and “The Borderlands Competition” will take place in Maribor from 8 - 11 October 2020 and Łódź from 6- 8 November 2020.
In the times of pandemic we have to expect unexpected, “Plan B” assumes the organization of online screenings – all the conditions of online mode will be discussed separately before the announcement of the selection results.
We are waiting for your submissions until 16/ 08/ 2020.
Submission to StopTrik IFF is free of charge.
Films accepted to the competitions should last no longer than 30 minutes and be completed after 01/ 01/ 2018. Delivery of film copy along with signed documents (regulations, entry form) is a condition for successful submission. Submissions may be delivered either by online entry form available at www.stoptrik.com or by online transfer (please send email to stoptrikfestival@gmail.com, including required documents and link for downloading film copy from e.g. wetransfer.com, dropbox.com etc).
