‘The First Slam Dunk’ opens the upcoming NYC festival of new Japanese film, set for July 26-August 6.
The anime arm kicks off with festival screening of ‘The First Slam Dunk’ feature, based on the ‘Slam Dunk’ manga series, slated for release in cinemas across Scandinavia, Poland, Baltics, Greece, and the Central European region late Summer 2023.
The Japan Academy Prize-winning feature, directed by original manga creator Takehiko Inoue, arrives in U.S. and Canadian theaters this summer.
Nearly 500 episodes are added to its already extensive line-up of movies and TV series, including new installments of ‘One Piece,’ ‘Dr. Slump,’ ‘Slam Dunk,’ and ‘Ge-Ge-Ge No Kitaro.’
