AMC has ordered a third season of runaway zombie hit THE WALKING DEAD, reports Variety. The debut episode of the second season garnered 7.3 million, making it the biggest telecast in basic cable history. The series following a band of survivors of a zombie outbreak is based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series.
