VFX Supervisor Charles Gibson to Make Directing Debut

Oscar winner Charles Gibson (BABE, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST) is set to make his directorial debut with family comedy THE GOBLIN, per VARIETY.

Wind Dancer Film head Matt Williams will produce with production head Judd Payne and Matt Berenson. David McFadzean and Dete Meserve of Wind Dancer will exec produce.

Gibson worked as a second unit director on the PIRATES franchise and TERMINATOR SALVATION in addition to working with the visual effects.

The story of THE GOBLIN is about a suburban family who moves into a new home, but finds a curmudgeonly goblin who doesn't want them there. The film was written by Geoff Rodkey (DADDY DAY CARE and RV).
