Press Release from TEAK

The waves are building off the coast of Spain, set to crash into the beach in June when Director Patrick Trefz' latest surf movie, Idiosyncrasies, hits the Amstel Surfilmfestibal 8 in San Sebastián. Complementing the live-action footage artfully shot by Trefz, TEAK handled all editing and motion graphics on the film, a testament to their status as a one-stop shop.

"Patrick and I have a shared passion for the surfing subculture, and I'm truly invested in his unique approach to capture the essence of that world," noted TEAK EP Greg Martinez. "It has always been a goal of mine to be involved in creating content related to the surf culture. Projects like Idiosyncrasies enliven what we do here at TEAK, as we're able to combine long-held passions."

The film builds on the cinematic success of Trefz' previous surf film, Thread. With a story woven together around high-intensity action shots that portray the sport's lifeblood, Idiosyncrasies is a celebration of the diehard surf culture, from the unheralded to stars like Richard Kenvin, Andrew Kidman, Lance Eber, Christian Beamish, Leeann, Frank and Pat Curren, and Josh and Bill Mulcoy.

"TEAK provides the latitude and the resources that allowed me to make a project like this," stated Trefz. "I can always trust that the best talent available will be there for edit, for post, and for whatever other help I need along the way. It feels great to have another film in the can so we can sit back and enjoy our work a bit."

NoColor will exhibit a still-photo gallery of Idiosyncrasies from June 4 to July 4. The film will run from June 4 to 13 in San Sebastián.

TEAK will continue to be involved in surf culture. Their newly redesigned, soon-to-launch, website will feature a surf report.
