London, UK -- Tiger Aspect announced that Tom Beattie is the company’s new Head of Animation and Children’s Programming.

Tom joined Tiger Aspect in 2001 and has worked across all of the company’s animation and children's programming output, including Mr Bean: The Animated Series (52x11), Tinga Tinga Tales (52 x11), multi Bafta Award-winning Charlie and Lola (80x11), and Bosom Pals (2 x 30).  He has worked across every aspect of production from development to delivery and beyond and was also involved in the set-up of the first-ever animation studio in Kenya, East Africa.

One of Tom’s latest development projects is a pre-school animation series, Aliens Love Underpants, based on the popular children’s book series.

Tom will continue to work alongside Claudia Lloyd who stays at Tiger Aspect as Creative Director:  Animation and Children’s Programming.

Tiger Aspect’s Managing Director Sophie Clarke-Jervoise said, “Tom has worked alongside Claudia on all of our greatest animation series so this is a natural step for him. We are about to get very busy in Animation with some very exciting new projects coming up, and Tom has all the right skills and expertise to lead the department.  He and Claudia are a creative dream team so it’s fantastic that they are continuing this partnership in this way.”

Tom added, “I’m so excited by this opportunity. I’ve seen many changes through my years at Tiger Aspect and it feels like a good time to be here. Claudia and I have worked closely on all of Tiger’s children’s output and I look forward to continuing that partnership in this new role. I’m honestly still a big kid and I look forward to making more great shows for smaller kids.”
