Vancouver, Canada — Canadian animation net TELETOON has teamed up with Nerd Corps Entertainment to try and tame some Endangered Species this year, as the 52 x 11 minute 3-D series heads into development. The edgy comedy series is aimed at six- to 11-year-olds, and follows the antics of a recently liberated pet bunny and a stump-winged seagull as they try to survive–while having a blast—in a wilderness that’s becoming more urban all the time.
“We were immediately drawn to the show’s silly, absurd humor and goofball main characters,” said Alan Gregg, Director of Original Content, TELETOON Canada inc. “It’s exactly the type of character-driven comedy series that works so well with TELETOON’s kid demo who want something more sophisticated and irreverent, but above all, fun. “
“We loved the idea of this group of animals who are having a great time in the wild in spite of both mother nature’s and humanity’s inadvertent efforts to wipe them out.” said series creator and Nerd Corps Entertainment’s Supreme Commander Asaph Fipke. “The humor’s pretty irreverent, and the two main characters are just fun to work with. They’re pretty much insane.”
About the ShowAn off-beat comedy series aimed at six- to 11-year-olds, Endangered Species follows the hilarious antics of a rag-tag group of animals trying to adapt to the fact that their forest habitat is constantly infiltrated by the byproducts of a nearby booming metropolis. The show follows Fuzzy Bun Bun, a recently liberated pet bunny who is way too enthusiastic about living in the “wild,” and Poco, an air-sickness prone, stump-winged seagull, whose only dream is to fly south for the winter. Together with a host of other oddball creatures, they just want to adapt and have a blast in the new wild order. The 3-D animated comedy series is 52 x 11-minutes.
