The fourth installment of the franchise began showing signs of delay in mid-December when rumors began circulating about pre-production coming to a halt due to script problems. Shooting was originally scheduled to start next month. The studio has gone through many draft versions of the script for years and appears to still not be settled on a final product.
Paramount and Marvel Entertainment pushed up the release of THOR by two weeks, which then prompted Disney to grab the May 20, 2011 slot for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES.
