Pulse Entertainment announced the appointment of three key industry executives to its senior staff. Sally Driver was named senior vice president of marketing; Abe Mammen, vice president of engineering; and Brian Becker, vice president of brand development and research. Driver will lead the development and execution of all aspects of Pulse's marketing strategy, including brand development, marketing communications and corporate communications. Coming from NBC Internet, she served as general manager, marketing, and helped develop and implement strategic brand and product marketing initiatives for NBCi's broadband portal, nbci.com and NBCi properties Snap.com and XOOM.com. Prior to NBCi, Driver lead the marketing initiatives for Sun Microsystems' Server Systems group. As VP of engineering, Mammen will be responsible for directing the technological development of Pulse products and graphics architecture. Prior to Pulse, Mammen was Apple Computers chief architect of 3D graphics efforts. Before Apple, Mammen was director of architecture at Raycer Graphics. Becker will help shape Pulse's brand strategy and image, as well as leading the company's strategic and marketing research efforts, including competitive analysis and programs to maximize customer acquisition and retention. Also coming from NBC Internet, Becker was the general manager of research, and helmed both qualitative and quantitative research efforts, and specialized in strategic positioning and creative content testing. Prior to NBCi, Becker was the senior director of research at ASI Entertainment, where he directed television pilot and series program testing for The WB, FOX, MTV, VH-1 and Spelling Entertainment.
