Pinky and Perky Back for More

The hugely successful PINKY AND PERKY SHOW is continuing to pull in the viewers with repeats of the first series scheduled across the BBC in the coming months.

The show is scheduled in special double-bill slots on Sundays on the CBBC Channel at 7.35 that will run until 5th July. The pesky pair are also scheduled Monday to Friday at 3.10pm on CBBC, from 5th May until 29th May, as well as being featured on Transmission Impossible with Ed and Oucho on BBC 2, which starts on Saturday 16th May. The first series is also now available on DVD.

The PINKY AND PERKY SHOW first erupted onto CBBC on November 3rd last year and pulled in such big ratings that the show was quickly put out on BBC1 at the coveted 3.40 pm slot. It's not just the UK where the show is flying high -- it is due to go out on France 3 and ABC in Australia this year, with sales also confirmed in the Nordics.

The pigs are also causing a stir in the licensing world: PPC Enterprises, which holds M and L rights in the brand, has already signed up Martin Yaffe to produce a wide range of superb Pinky and Perky toys that are set to hit the market in autumn/winter 2009 -- these include a Pinky and Perky megaphone, Pinky and Perky walkie-talkie headsets, a sing-a-long microphone, joke sets, inflatable chairs, and a remote controlled car.

As well as toys, a Nintendo DS game is launching soon and Pinky and Perky are even set to ham it up in their own stage show, which will be produced by top children's theatre company Fiery Light, which is behind the hugely successful LAZY TOWN LIVE! show.

Mark Hurry, PPCE Legal and Commercial Director, is delighted with the pigs' progress: "The Pinky and Perky Show only launched at the end of last year but it is rapidly developing into a phenomenon -- not only is the show being repeated across the BBC, but the new DVD is available and there is plenty of interest from potential licensees. These pigs are going places!"
