Press Release from SpeedTree Cinema:

COLUMBIA, SC – “Sesame Street,” the popular children’s show, and “After,” a movie due in theaters this year, both benefited from Magnetic Dream’s decision to license SpeedTree Cinema.

Mike Halsey, president of Magnetic Dreams Animation Studio, Inc., used SpeedTree in multiple episodes of SuperGrover2.0, a weekly feature of Sesame Street in 2011. The show’s high production values and frequent outdoor settings presented a challenge for Halsey as he produced each weekly episode.

“With SpeedTree Cinema we were able add beautiful trees with realistic blowing wind to the exterior shots quickly and compellingly,” Halsey said. “SpeedTree was simply the right tool for the job – efficient, enjoyable to use, and the results exceeded our expectations.”

Don Culwell, Magnetic Dream’s co-owner and executive vice president, used SpeedTree for a number of scenes in After, a live action feature film. “With the latest version I found SpeedTree easier to use and more powerful than ever.” Culwell said. “I’m definitely more artistic than technical and had feature-film-quality blowing trees modeled in SpeedTree, exported into Softimage and rendering in a day.  It’s not just for games anymore. What a great tool!”
