Jason O'Mara, the star of the defunct TV series LIFE ON MARS, has been cast as the lead in Fox's family time travel tale, TERRA NOVA, reports VARIETY. O'Mara will play Jim Shannon, a man in 2149 who takes his family and a group of settlers to a prehistoric colony. Exec producers Brannon Braga and David Fury said the character was developed with O'Mara in mind.
Braga and Fury will exec produce alongside Steven Spielberg and Peter Chernin. 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks TV, Kapital Entertainment and Chernin Entertainment are producing.
