Fans are invited to a special event featuring the music of ‘Soul’ hosted by the famed Jazz composer and musician, marking today’s home entertainment release on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD; Disney and Pixar’s virtual concert premieres March 25.
It’s time to celebrate! Fans are invited to a special concert in honor of Disney and Pixar’s release of the animated feature Soul, now available on digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. The Virtual Jazz Concert, premiering Thursday, March 25, is hosted by Jon Batiste and will spotlight HBCU band performances that allow fans to experience the music and essence of the film.
Directed by Academy Award winner Pete Docter (Inside Out, Up), co-directed by Kemp Powers (One Night in Miami) and produced by Academy Award nominee Dana Murray, p.g.a. (Pixar short Lou), Soul tells the story of Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22, who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions.
The digital and physical releases of Soul will include exclusive, never-before-seen deleted scenes and audio commentary by Docter, Powers, and Murray. The film is available packaged as a collectible SteelBook at Best Buy and packaged with a limited-edition gallery book at Target.
