Ari Folman has received funding from Paris-based bank Coficine-Natixis for his WALTZ WITH BASHIR follow-up THE CONGRESS, reports Variety. Production has already begun on the adaptation of Stanislaw Lem's dystopic tale, which will be half-animation, half-live-action. The bank has invested €3.5 million ($5 million) into the project.
The other producers include Bridgit Folman's Film Gang, Germany's Pandora Film, Luxembourg's Paul Thiltges Distributions and Belgium's Entre Chien et Loup.
