Who knew that purple crayons are erasable? But it must be true because Sony Pictures Entertainment has shared a first-look exclusive with AWN of the “Diner Disruption” deleted scene (watch it below!) from Harold and the Purple Crayon, the live-action/animated hybrid features that follows a grown-up Harold, filled with wonder about everything, who doesn’t quite think things through.

The movie now on digital, for purchase and rental today!

Based on the classic children’s book by Crockett Johnson and starring Zachary Levi, the film follows adventurous Harold, played by Zachary Levi, who has brought himself out of his 2D adventures into the physical world just by drawing it.

In the film, his crayon is made of pure imagination... and after drawing himself right off the page into the real world, Harold is filled with wonder about everything. But not everything goes as planned. In fact, admonished with 'What were you thinking?' for one rather disastrous kid’s ride he turned into real helicopter, Harold cheekily says, 'No… honestly, I don’t do a lot of thinking…' Which he doesn't.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha, produced by John Davis, and executive produced by Jeremy Stein and Jenny Hinkey, the film stars Levi, Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds with Alfred Molina, and Zooey Deschanel. The screenplay is written by David Guion & Michael Handelman, based on the book by Johnson.

In “Diner Disruption” Porcupine displays some rather prickly manners!

Studios contributing to the production’s visual effects include Day for Nite, Clear Angle Studios, Folks VFX, Mammal Studios, OPSIS, Rising Sun Pictures, RSP, and Spin VFX.
