Cuppa Coffee Studios Launches Life's A Zoo.tv

Cuppa Coffee's highly touted stop motion comedy, LIFE'S A ZOO.TV is set to launch on TELETOON Canada's Detour Zone on September 1, 2008. Later in the year the SBS Australia premiere of the show is set to air. The show, which features a group of animals fighting for glory in a mansion in Saskatchewan, is aimed at the teens and up crowd and promises to deliver a hilarious new spin on the reality television genre.

The series showcases 20 Canadian indie bands like Danko Jones, Spiral Beach, and God Made Me Funky among others. "Major record labels don't get the fact that there's been a renaissance in how people look at, listen to and buy music," Shaheen explained. "We turned to Canadian indie bands to show them how it's done -- and as a result major labels now want to be a part of season two." The indie music spin combined with the mock reality show format has seen broadcasters take note with sales aimed at traditionally mainstream users.

The show's producers are also talking to webcasters who see the potential of introducing the series through sponsors, who "totally get the brand", according to Shaheen. "For the first time in my career, I'm getting calls from ad agencies and brands themselves wanting to ally themselves with an 18-35 pop culture/reality/music based comedy -- It's an interesting sign of the times."
