Cartoonist’s Union Presents A Free Portfolio Lecture

* Wednesday, August 2, 2000. North Hollywood, California, U.S.A.

The Cartoonists Union, MPSC Local 839, will present a free lecture entitled "Professional Portfolio Presentations," led by Robert St. Pierre. The lecture will highlight a philosophy in portfolio presentation that is not typically seen in submitted books. A portfolio is a personal and subjective expression of who one is, yet there are some fundamental considerations and aesthetics that should go into preparing a portfolio. St. Pierre will discuss principles and applications that can help elevate a portfolio to a more professional standard. Topics of discussion include: issues to consider prior to submitting for review; common oversights and mistakes that can cripple your presentation; submission guidelines and tolerances; the psychology of making a portfolio stand out to review board members; and, the steps you can take to insure your book excels over the competition. The event will take place from 7-9 pm at 4729 Lankershim Boulevard. For more information contact Local 839 at: Tel.: (818) 766-7151; or E-mail: mpsc839@primenet.com(link sends e-mail).
