Cars Picks Up Three Grammy Nominations

All three nominations going to animated feature entries this year for the 49th Annual Grammy Awards were all from Disney/Pixar's CARS. The flick's album was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album." Randy Newman and James Taylor got a nod in Best Song Written For A Motion Picture for "Our Town." A Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance nomination went to John Mayer for his rendition of "Route 66," which was used in CARS. The winners will be announced on Feb. 11, 2007, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8:00-11:30 pm.

NARINA also got a nom for Best Song Written For A Motion Picture for the song, "Can't Take It In", written & performed by Imogen Heap.

The BABY EINSTEIN series garnered Disney Records nominations for Best Musical Album for children, for "Baby Einstein Meets The Orchestra" and Best Spoken Word Album for Children, for Disney's "Little Einstein's Musical Missions."

GRAMMY ballots for the final round of voting will be mailed to the voting members of The Recording Academy on Dec. 13 and are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by Jan. 10 to be tabulated.
