Bron Media Names Brenda Gilbert President of Animation

New appointment follows recent company reorganization; Adam Wood, Teunis De Raat and Luke Carroll named VPs.

Bron’s ‘Henchmen’ feature is set for release in 2016.

BURNABY, CANADA -- Following the recent re-organization of Bron Media Corp., Brenda Gilbert has expanded her role to include President of Bron Animation, in addition to her responsibilities on the Bron Media Corp. board.

“It was important for Bron Animation to have its own identity and defined leadership group,” said Aaron L. Gilbert, CEO, “and Brenda has been a driving force behind our animation group since 2013.”

Ms. Gilbert has appointed three vice presidents to the Bron Animation leadership team. Adam Wood has been named VP Creative. Teunis de Raat has been named VP Digital; and Luke Carroll’s role has been expanded to VP Production & Development.

“These three talented people lead our incredible creative, technical, and production teams at Bron Animation,” said Gilbert.

Bron Animation is currently in production on the animated feature Henchmen, the company’s first feature-length animated film, starring the voice talents of such notable actors as James Marsden, Thomas Middleditch, Rosario Dawson, Alfred Molina, and others. While the majority of animation production takes place at Bron’s headquarters in Burnaby, BC, the company recently expanded its production facilities in Duncan, on Vancouver Island, BC. The new state of the art studio serves its production needs on feature films and television productions in development.

Wood joined Bron in 2012 and has been the creative force behind Bron’s Mighty Mighty Monsters and the current feature Henchmen, which he wrote and is directing. He was previously with Pixar Studios working on such properties as Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo And Monsters Inc.

De Raat has been leading production technology at Bron since 2012, following senior level stints with Pixar Canada, Disney, and ImageMovers. Past films include A Christmas Carol, Mars Needs Moms, Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, Mighty Joe Young, Inspector Gadget, Chronicles Of Riddick, Queen Of The Damned and Armageddon.

In 2013 Carroll joined Bron after previously producing numerous CG animated films including Escape From Planet Earth for The Weinstein Company. Equipped with an MFA in Film Production and Creative Writing from The University of British Columbia, Carroll is also an award winning independent filmmaker with screenings at over 50 international film festivals. Currently, he is serving as a Producer on Henchmen.
