The Apple TV+ ‘Kids’ division has laid off eight staffers across music, production, and development, according to Deadline.
Apple TV+, which recently shifted away from Skydance Animation to focus on its own animated film pipeline, is evolving but remains committed to kids’ features. Since its 2019 launch, the streamer has released more than 60 original titles in kids’ programming and animation.
Looking forward, Apple TV+ has teamed with WildBrain for an original Peanuts feature film. The 3DCG family film will follow Snoopy and Charlie Brown as they face their biggest challenge yet on an epic adventure to the Big City, learning the true meaning of friendship while meeting some surprising new friends along the way.
Last year, the streamer was awarded an Oscar for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse as well as 27 Children’s & Family Emmy Award nominations.
