Adult Swim Allows Two Live-Action Series into the Pool

Continuing Cartoon Network's move into the live-action arena, Adult Swim has announced premiere dates for two original live-action series. From the creators of TOM GOES TO THE MAYOR comes TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW, GREAT JOB, a variety sketch show premiering on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at 11:45 pm (ET/PT). Immediately following is SAUL OF THE MOLE MEN, a comedy/adventure shot entirely in front of a greenscreen, at 12:00 midnight (ET/PT).

TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW, GREAT JOB stars the comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. It's a 15-minute sketch variety show, which will be comprised of a fast-paced, absurd collection of short films, parodies, animations, pranks and musical numbers. Special guest stars will include a host of comedians, celebrities, bad actors and pets.

SAUL OF THE MOLE MEN is a 15-minute, serialized comedy-adventure combining live-action and puppetry. During a top secret STRATA Mission, Saul becomes stranded inside Earth's core. While there, the socially crippled explorer encounters the Mole Men, who do not understand his foreign ways. Saul quickly finds himself entangled in an epic tale of political intrigue, geological discovery, romance, war and ancient evils. The series is exec produced by Peter Girardi, Craig Lewis and Tom Stern, and is inspired by the work of Sid and Marty Krofft (LAND OF THE LOST), serialized sci-fi (Tom Baker-era DR. WHO) and the PLANET OF THE APES franchise.

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System Inc.'s network offering original and acquired animated and live-action comedy and action series for young adults. Airing overnights six days a week for a total of 45 hours weekly, Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, which is seen in 91 million U.S. homes.
