Problems With Blender

Hey everybody!

  I'm starting work on this animated film that takes place from 1965 to 1968 {sorry if anybody has already heard}. Been using Plotagon for it because I like the way that the characters look. But Plotagon is very startup and very new and like I said has quite a few problems. Somebody on here suggested Blender. But here's the thing:

  I've had issues with Blender before...like when you import something it shows up as being there but you can't see it...

  Any idea why??
