Thanks for having me on this forum. I am relatively new to the world of animation (about 10 months in) and have been searching for good forums where I could not only post my work and receive constructive critique but learn from other animators through their individual styles. I have been working in architecture for many years and always had a fascination with animation. Architecture allowed me to tell a story with the forms I created and that evoked an emotion from the people who occupied that space. Animation allows me that same experience/satisfaction with the characters and stories I create. I did 2 short animations over the span of 2 months. The first one can be seen at this link:
The second animation can be seen at this link:
Let me know what you all think.
Cheers!
You do have skill, were you the only one working on these two pieces?
The only thing I did not do was compose the music and voice act for one of the characters in the basketball animation. I did everything else, from the character design, background design, animation, editing, script writing, etc. After doing these two short animations I have a new found respect for animators. For a while I was on the outside looking in and thought that a 1/2hr show on cartoon network was a cake walk, now I know the truth....lol.
Although it has been a lot of sleepless nights I can't help but love it. The ability to bring an imaginary character to life is an amazing thing.
