Maya 8.0 on 2 computers?

Hello everyone, I have just bought a new notebook computer and would like to install my Maya 8.0 Unlimited student edition on this notebook as well as having it on my desktop computer so depending on if im home or not I can always work on my animation. Does anyone have any tricks or tips that will help me to acomplish this? When I try to install on my notebook it says it can only be installed on one computer at a time as most of you probably already know. Please help as this will help me out substantially because I am away from my desktop a lot of the time. Amarlls@aol.com

If my ICT studies from school have served me well, you can install it on multiple machines. BUT you can only use it on one of those machines at any one time. So if you installed it on computer A and computer B, you could only use A or B, not both. If someone used A while you used B, that'd be illegal.

Get to know me more through my blog at http://kaidonni.animationblogspot.com/!

From what I understood from talking to Alias, you can't install a STUDENT version on two computers. That is only possible if you buy the full industry version for about $2000. If you use Maya more when you're away from your desktop, I'd say go ahead and just install it on your laptop.

Jeez, for less than half of that $2k, you can buy two student seats of Maya 8.5 Unlimited and get two seats of Combustion and Cleaner in the deal too.

Ape's nailed it - if your laptop will run it and you're using your laptop more, then transfer your license to the laptop and call it a day.
