Rupert Piston Gallery

haven't posted much at all in a few months. I've been on the computer much less and at the drawing table more. This weekend I stood in a doorway for a few hours at a big bike rally here in Hollister and drew this. I'd done some other stuff, but this was the best, so I cleaned it up a little.

Here's the rough

Here's the cleanup after ink and Photoshop. Not sure if I'll add color or not.

While I'm at it I may as well post a couple pages of comic stuff I've been working on lately.

lol!
Really cool comic, i love it!

It's amazing how easily you can draw motorcycles. I've tryed drawing em plenty of times, with and without reference, and i found it a really tough job. It's awesome how you draw them.

Really nice work :)

so you shall call me Sir Idiot N. D'fool

Thanks Ark'

It's called obsession. I can only draw harleys so far, and I've been trying at it for years, more seriously in the last 2 or 3 years when I started wanting to tell some stories. Now I can finally put people on them. There are several biker artists who I admire that set an example for me to follow--David Mann (RIP), Eric Herrmann, and others. Herrmann has a book on how to paint and draw bikes--I haven't seen it, but I imagine I should give it a look eventually.

I'm in the process of reworking the background perspective and adding color to the street drawing.

And finally, the final version. Still lots in it to fix, but I may have to restart the whole thing, which might be a good exercise for me. Lotta fuzzy stuff in it, etc.
