Well... this week, Koji Yamamura turns Samuel Beckett as he ponders my difficult technical questions about his masterpiece, A Country Doctor.
So, how’d you make this?
Drawing on paper with oil marker pen and color pencil. I also used the modify pen for a light of the eyes.
Traditional drawing animation, dawning key frame and make in-between.
I've never used any 3D CG guide.
Why this technique?
Most effective and quick.
How long did it take?
21 minutes of animation took 1 year and 3 months, including the developing story board and post production. I worked with 2 in-between animators and 2 inking staff.
What was the most challenging part of the process?
Retouch on the dark color part with color pencil and composite edit.
Was it worth it?
I hope so.
