Excellent Dickens adaptation with outstanding cinematography and acting.5. The Shop Around the Corner by Ernst Lubitsch. Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan have great chemistry in this E. Lubitsch charmer.6. Lady and the Tramp (Disney). Small, characterful feature animation which is timeless.7. Raiders of the Lost Ark by Steven Spielberg. Action that is tongue-in-cheek; great tone and musical score.8. The Godfather, Parts 1-3, by Francis Ford Coppola. Character-driven story and action which is beautifully filmed.9. The King and I by Walter Lang. Hard to choose amongst the Rogers & Hammerstein musicals, but Yul Brynner elevates this one for me.10. The Lion in Winter by Anthony Harvey.
