Blender's just amazing!

I'd like to say that I think Blender 3D's amasing! I'm not being paid to say this, though I surpose the more people use it the more it will benifit me, as I'm quite skilled with it.

It's a full 3D program - WAY better that 3DS Max, though I guess that's quite a rubbish program - and It's freely downleadable from blender.org

Traditional Animator

I saw the title of this forum and I had to post. More and more, when I tell people I am an animator they assume I am a computer animator. And I have to explain to them that "No, I am an actual animator. You know with pencil and paper, having to control your motion and eases by hand. That is talent. Plus, I don't care what resolution you're rendering at, it still looks cold and emotionless.

I am a "traditional" animator and proud of it.

learning animation - exercises and experiments

This one is a head turn based on an assignment from Tony White's The Animator's Workbook. Just thought I'd throw it out here before attempting a cleanup. (And yes I have yet to get the hang of keeping things from morphing! I'll probably draw/paste in perfect circles on another layer and trace over those in cleanup)

capture Station Setup - Advice Needed

Hello-

I am currently researching methods for setting up a station for the digital capture of 2D or stop motion work for an expanding art department in a midwest university. The lab is a macinttosh lab so software would be restricted to mac-compatible means. I've used Frame Thief and like its features and would like to use a digital still camera to get higher resolution images than a miniDV cam.

Has anyone had experience in this area who can lend some advice or comments?

Taking SWF to DVD

Perhaps it was discussed here before but I don't remember but I wish to take swf (ecards) and convert them for DVD (demoreel). They are ones I worked on but the swf has the final sounds, that's why.
ANyone use any such program?
What do you recommend?
What about aspect size, say if 400 x 550? How will that convert? Likewise frame rate; some are 10, 12, 15 fps for the web.
Movie clips? Can such a program convert the movie clips so they don't appear held?

So I'd really appreciate responses and recommends from those who have used such software.

Flash Refresher

By LeechKin | Friday, January 19, 2007 at 12:19pm

Hey everyone. I normally animate with illustrator and after effects, but have decided to get back into Flash.

I can't seem to remember how to get two seperate layers to animate together. Say if had a hand and arm on seperate layers I remember being able to animate them both and apply a motion tween with decent results. Does anybody know how to go about this, or even a better way to animate if you know of a way.

I am using MX 2004.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

At the risk of being burned for crossing the line of ‘advertising’ on my own forum I just want to introduce everyone to a new and important event that supports traditional 2D animation… especially well-crafted, innovative and original beginner animation. So please hear me out.
