Singer Producing SyFy 2012 Miniseries

SyFy and Bryan Singer are jumping on the 2012 end of the world bandwagon as well. Having produced the 2005 miniseries THE TRIANGLE, the cable network and filmmaker will now produce a six-hour miniseries based on the end of the world coming in 2012 based on the end of the Mayan calendar, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

Singer will produce the miniseres with Andrew Deane and Keith Addis via Industry Entertainment.

Plotkin New SVP at SyFy

Former Warner Bros. TV exec Andrew Plotkin has stepped into the role of SVP of original programming at SyFy, reports VARIETY. He will report to Syfy original programming EVP and Universal Cable Prods. co-head of original content Mark Stern. Plotkin will work closely with Syfy's other SVP Erik Storey.

Plotkin takes the post that Tony Optican vacated to head FremantleMedia North America's scripted programming division.
