Could Someone Give me Advice on Animation Techniques for Independent Projects?

Hello there,

I am reaching out to the community here on AWN for some guidance regarding animation techniques for independent projects.

I am currently working on an independent animated short and am exploring different techniques to bring my vision to life. My background is primarily in traditional 2D animation, but for this project, I’m considering integrating some modern methods to enhance the overall visual appeal and storytelling.

What are some effective ways to blend traditional hand-drawn animation with digital tools? Are there any recommended practices or software that can help streamline this process?

I am looking for advice on texturing and lighting in digital animation. How can I achieve a cohesive look that complements the traditional elements of my animation? Any tips or tutorials that focus on this aspect would be greatly appreciated.

Since my short will be showcased on various platforms, what should I consider to ensure it looks great across different formats and devices? Are there any standard practices for preparing animations for multiple platforms?

Also, I have gone through this post; https://www.awn.com/blog/three-books-should-blue-prism-be-every-animators-shelf-0 which definitely helped me out a lot.

Finally; how do you maintain artistic integrity while adapting to new techniques or tools? I want to ensure that the essence of my animation remains intact despite the incorporation of new methods.

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.
