Hi all, as a noob of animation i'm curious as to what the script of an animated film looks like. is it just dialogue between characters or does it have other aspects to it?

Scripts for animated films are no different than scripts for live action. You can do a google search and download scripts to see.
In addition to dialogue there are usually short descriptions of the environment the character(s) are in, but these can be as brief as INT HOUSE.

Be aware that most scripts you find online (at least for Hollywood movies) will be shooting scripts which differ quite a bit from a written screenplay.
The best book to take you through the basics (and beyond) of script formatting is The Screenwriter's Bible by David Trottier. He also has a website.
I'm not sure what the differences are (if there are any) between animation and live action screenplays, but there are many books on Amazon concerning writing specifically for animation. I have not read any of them, though.
If your thinking of writing some scripts it might be worth looking at a nice little program called celtx. Search it. It's a nice, free integrated script-writing, scheduling and storyboarding tool. More dedicated to live action that animation, but good none-the-less.
