Summit Ent. has announced that it will release the spy thriller RED on Oct. 22, 2010, reports VARIETY. Based on the WildStorm/DC comic book, the story follows a retired CIA agent who must face off against younger high-tech assassins that come to kill him. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren are the stars.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are the producers. DC exec Gregory Noveck will exec produce. Robert Schwentke will direct from a script by Erich and Jon Hoeber.
