Rooster Teeth Ditches YouTube
Warner Bros. Discovery's Rooster Teeth is pulling some of its most popular content (e.g., Red vs. Blue and Camp Camp) from YouTube, citing the high cost and challenges of producing animation for digital media. Viewers are encouraged to watch the content for free on the Rooster Teeth website in the future.
Rooster Teeth noted that they rely heavily on viewer support to fund projects – as do other digital media content creators. Content viewed on the Rooster Teeth website generates five to ten times the revenue per ad compared to YouTube. Signing up for FIRST, Rooster Teeth’s subscription service, is the best way to support its animators.
