On the last week’s fifth and final Geeked Week day, Netflix and BioWare announced that the all-new animated series Dragon Age: Absolution is coming to the streamer in December.

Based on the hugely popular award-winning Dragon Age video game franchise that introduced audiences and players to the world of Thedas, this series is set in Tevinter and features an ensemble of new characters inspired by Dragon Age lore. Think… elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and other unimaginable surprises. 

We don’t have many details, but the streamer did release a teaser trailer and key art – so check it out, and we’ll get back to you when we know more!

The showrunner is Mairghread Scott, with Red Dog Culture House producing the animation.

The next game joining the franchise is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, a single-player-focused experience that further builds on the storied adventures.
