Emily Mortimer (SHUTTER ISLAND) and Michael Stuhlbarg (A SERIOUS MAN) have been tapped for Martin Scorsese's HUGO CABRET, reports HEAT VISION. Mortimer takes the role of a flower shop girl and Stuhlbarg is a film restorationist.

Based on Brian Selznick's bestseller THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET, the story follows orphan Hugo (Asa Butterfield), who lives in a Paris train station. He gets caught up in a fantasy world with a strange girl (Chloe Moretz) and a chilly toy-store owner (Ben Kingsley). The cast also includes Sacha Baron Cohen, Jude Law, Christopher Lee and Ray Winstone.

Scorsese, Graham King, Tim Headington and Johnny Depp are the producers.

Production has begun in London.
