English-bred actors are headed to Mars: Samantha Morton, Dominic West and Polly Walker have joined JOHN CARTER OF MARS.

The HollywoodReporter notes, Andrew Stanton is set to direct the film based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ book series.

Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe round-out the cast. MARS involves a Civil War vet who is mysteriously transported to Mars, during that planet’s wartime.

Stanton and Mark Andrews penned the screenplay. Jim Morris and Colin Wilson are producing while Brigham Taylor is overseeing for the studio.
