Daniel Sunjata (TV's RESCUE ME), Diego Klattenhoff (TV's MERCY) and Burn Gorman (LAYER CAKE) are all circling roles in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, reports Variety. Sunjata would play a heroic special forces officer. Klattenhoff is up for a role as a good rookie cop. The role Gorman is shooting for is not yet known.

They would join Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Juno Temple and Josh Pence.

Christopher Nolan will direct and co-wrote the script with his brother Jonathan. He will also produce with Emma Thomas and Charles Roven.

Warner Bros. has set July 20, 2012 for the film's release.
