LucasArts Pres Steps Down
Jim Ward, President of LucasArts, is leaving the gaming firm, reports IGN. Ward, who is leaving for personal reasons, will finish up his work over the next two weeks. Howard Roffman, President of Lucas Licensing, will take over Ward's duties until a replacement can be found.
Roffman was quoted in IGN as saying, "We're sorry to see Jim go. In his 10 years with Lucasfilm, Jim did an outstanding job of leading the marketing, distribution, and online divisions. Since taking over the reins at LucasArts in 2004, he rebuilt the internal studio, developed strong partnerships with top quality developers, and released a string of megahit games including the BATTLEFRONT and LEGO STAR WARS franchises. He leaves a dedicated and very capable team, as well as a strong slate of projects led by STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED. We wish Jim all the best in his future endeavors."
