John McTiernan, the director of DIE HARD, will serve a year in prison for perjury in connection with the Anthony Pellicano wiretapping case, according to The Hollywood Reporter. McTiernan is out on bond while awaiting an appeal. He was also order by a federal judge to pay a $100,000 fine.

His defense team attempted to get him a three-year probation term after he pled guilty to lying to the FBI and a federal judge.

Pellicano tapped the phones of film producer Charles Roven on the behest of McTiernan. He was given 15 years in prison as a result of that wiretapping and many others.
