Arri & Trixter Announce 'PLOE' Feature

MUNICH -- Postproduction house/world sales company ARRI and VFX/animation studio TRIXTER have announced the formation of an animation production alliance. Both companies are now offering their combined services to producers of animation as co-producers and world sales partner.
The first joint project, PLOE, is a touching story packed with adventure for the whole family. It tells of a young golden plover and is being created together with Icelandic animation company GunHil.
ARRI and TRIXTER's alliance covers the production and distribution of animated films and begins with immediate effect. ARRI and TRIXTER are cooperating on animated projects as co-producers and service providers, whereby ARRI will also undertake world sales. ARRI brings the broad offerings of postproduction services available from ARRI Media Services, TRIXTER its experience as a VFX and animation studio with facilities in Munich, Berlin and Los Angeles, as well as its many years of coproduction experience.
With this partnership ARRI and TRIXTER now present themselves as a heavyweight in the animation sector, and are already receiving great interest from distributors and potential co-producers.
The first joint project, PLOE, is a touching story filled with adventure for all the family. It tells the story of a young golden plover who has trouble learning to fly and fails to migrate with his family to warmer climates. With the help of friends he is able to survive in a world full of natural enemies and is, at the end, celebrated as a hero. The story was developed by the Icelandic producers, animation studio GunHil.
PLOE was presented for the first time at Cartoon Movie last Friday (March 8, 2013) with pre-sales planned to start at Cannes Film Festival (Marché du Film) this year. Production is scheduled for the start of 2014.
