Call for Entries: PSIAF 2018 – Palm Springs International Animation Festival and Expo
Submit your films for the 2nd annual Palm Springs International Animation Festival, held in partnership with Comic Con Palm Springs, this coming August 22-26, 2018 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
PSIAF is back for 2018, with five days and nights packed with screenings, exhibitions, presentations and networking events celebrating the very best in animation.
The festival is now accepting film submissions for awards in 37 categories, including Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short in over 20 different styles of animation, including 2D, 3D, Hand Drawn, Painted, Watercolor, Sand, Paper, Experimental, Stop-Motions, VFX, and more. The submission deadline is June 16, 2018, so send in your film now!

For 2017, PSIAF received over 2,700 submissions from 103 countries. Judging is done according to nine cinematic virtues: storytelling, humor, heart, ideas, originality, visual interest, craftsmanship, diversity, and gut-level viewing pleasure.
The festival is expected to screen over 250+ award-winning shorts and 5 feature-length animated films, showcasing the talent of Oscar, Emmy and Grammy-winning artists from around the world. The festival and expo will also include VR experiences, live animation demonstrations, character and model sculptors, animation panel discussions, seminars, and educational programming held in conjunction with an international poster contest.
Don’t forget, PSIAF kicks off its 2018 with a special “Meet the Artists” gathering May 26, 2018, at Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage.
Meet animation artists involved with some of the most unique and compelling projects and techniques – join the day-long event filled with presentations and industry networking.
All 2018 festival winners will be celebrated at the PSIAF Awards Gala being held February 9-10, 2019.
